Chef John Fraser returns to the West Village with his latest restaurant, an American brasserie called The Loyal. Just opened up on Bleecker Street, The Loyal joins Chef Fraser’s arsenal of restaurants, including Dovetail, Narcissa, and Nix.
Little is known right now about The Loyal, but Chef Fraser wants to make it as relaxing yet classy as possible. The Loyal is going to be a place where you can go for a post-work drink or a late night celebration, with every occasion between. The focus at The Loyal is on the guests.
While a full menu has yet to be released, guests can expect a range of intricate and delicious flavor combinations, including rabbit pressed with cabbage mayo and truffles, drunken eggs with chile oil and smoked salt, stuffed chicken wings, and a burger with duck fat tator tots. There are also some rumors that guests can expect to find sundaes on the dessert menu, including a shareable DIY sundae. Vegetables will also be a delicious focus, as guests would expect from the chef behind veggie-only Nix.
The few drinks that have been released include The Sour, with pisco and bergamot, an Old Fashioned with dark chocolate bitters, and a mezcal Collins.
In a nutshell:
Chef John Fraser and the rest of the team behind The Loyal are being very secretive with what’s to come. If anything, that might make you want to check it out more! The opening is slated for September 27th, so pay close attention to The Loyal’s official Instagram page and website for details, and be the first of your friends to get your hands on those duck fat tator tots.
