The Lobster Club
The Seagram Building has been pretty busy lately with the openings of The Pool and The Grill and now, it’s time for the Major Food Group’s third opening in the space – The Lobster Club. They’re describing the new spot as a Japanese Brasserie with chef, Tasuku Murakami heading things up in the kitchen.
The decor of Lobster Club offers a slightly more colorful and inviting spot than its neighbours The Pool and The Grill. Lime green banquettes and pink chairs and white tables fill the space while a long bright marble bar with gold chairs frames the space. There’s also a private dining room off to one side which can be closed off for private parties.
Chef, Murakami, has a background in luxury sushi and The Lobster Club is serving some of his best creations in addition to a broad spectrum of cuisine inspired by Japan from tempura to gyoza and robata grills too. There’s a section dedicated to teppenyaki-style food where diners can order a selection of meats and fish like filet mignon and whole lobster. Appetizers include hot options like coconut shrimp and cold options like wasabi oysters. Of course the sushi section is not to be missed an offers an approachable list of sashimi and rolls to choose from.
Obviously there are stellar cocktails on offer from their gold-drenched bar as well as a large selection of international wines and spirits.
Surprisingly, you don’t have to drop the big bucks to dine here. Roll selections can go from $18 or you can spend up to $200 per person – it’s a pretty broad price point.
In A Nutshell:
I’ve always wanted to be part of a club, The Lobster Club sounds better though, so we’ll start with that.
