The Blue Rooftop

OPENED75 DAYS AGO

Midtown’s hotel Marmara Park Avenue launches a new rooftop lounge, The Blue Rooftop.

Located between Park and Lexington Avenue, The Blue Rooftop is a Mediterranean oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the Midtown area. We might be adding this newcomer to our guide to New York’s best new rooftop bars…

The Blue Rooftop - toasts

The Spot:

As you probably guessed from the name, The Blue Rooftop features a calming blue color palette throughout, balanced with marble accents and sleek steel tables for an urban feel. Not that the décor needs to provide any modern nuances – views of the city’s iconic skyscrapers will do just the trick.

The Food:

In keeping with the hotel’s Mediterranean roots, The Blue Rooftop offers a menu with mezze (hummus, baba ganoush, and a roasted red pepper dip), alongside other shareable dishes. Think watermelon pizza with feta cheese, shrimp ceviche, and bruschetta on toast. And because it’s illegal* to open a rooftop without serving guacamole, there’s that too, topped with a refreshing dose of pomegranate seeds.

*this might not be true.

The Drinks:

The Blue Rooftop reinvents classic cocktails with seasonal fruits and herbs. Take their margarita for example, a mix of tequila, orange liqueur, fig, honey and lime, finished off with fresh figs and lavender buds on top. Or the Penthouse Frosé, where a New York favorite gets help from Turkey’s beloved treat: a Turkish Delight.

The Damage:

Dishes vary between $13 and $23; cocktails are around $16-$19.

In a Nutshell:

Next time you’re elbowing your way through the Midtown area, just head to The Blue Rooftop, where you can transport yourself to the Middle East in a New York minute.
