There’s a chic new mini market and deli that’s just opened in Dumbo, offering fresh grab-and-go lunch options from some of the neighbourhood’s most loved restaurants and bakeries – Superette. Joining the recent surge of openings in this part of town, Superette joins an ever-growing dining scene on Brooklyn’s waterfront that includes openings like Cecconi’s, Celestine and hot Miami-import, Sugarcane.
The new shop promises to offer and brand new artisanal lunch and grocery option to the ever-busy neighborhood that is perfect for locals on lunch breaks and tourists alike.
The bright 150-square-foot shop is located right in the heart of the action between Pearl St and Jay St. The space is small and industrial-looking with sleek, brightly lit glass mini fridges lining one of the white stone walls and filled with delicacies from local purveyors for customers to choose from.
At Superette you can expect a seasonally rotating menu of fresh soups, sandwiches and salads in addition to freshly made pastries and breads from Roberta’s. The sandwiches come from Bushwick’s L’imprimerie bakery and include French-style-grab-and-go options like “Jambon Beurre” (country ham and French butter), “Prosciutto & Figue” (La Quercia Prosciutto, Fig Jam, Gruyere) and for the vegans there’s a vegan carrot and lox sandwich with smoked carrots, cream cheese, capers and red onion. A new addition to the menu to come will be Superette’s own take on the classic instant ramen noodle cups, called Noodle Pots. They’ll feature fresh ingredients and seasonings that are made into noodle soups instantly after adding water.
