There’s a swanky new cocktail bar atop hot spot, Hotel Henri with their brand new speakeasy, Sir Henri. There’s been a bit of a trend of hotels opening new spots lately with spots like secret speakeasy, The Office, opening at the Mandarin Oriental and The Crown at the new 50 Bowery Hotel. Now, we have a new contender and it comes with a Milk & Honey vet overseeing the cocktail programme.
The rooftop bar sits nice and high on the top of Hotel Henri in Flatiron and feels pretty exclusive. You won’t find many signs for it except for directions to the penthouse (where it is), once arrived you’ll be greeted with a dim, sexy space full of private corners to recline in and views of lower Manhattan to enjoy. Whilst there’s no outdoor space, the views and (more importantly) the cocktails make up for that.
That brings us on to the drinks, which are run by Milk & Honey vet, Gil Bouhana, who has put together a programme of swoon-worthy tipples like the Honey’s Alright (a mix of ginger bourbon, vermouth, muddle cantaloupes, lemon, and honey, served inside a honeydew melon) and All In the Honey (with lime, dill aquavit, tequila, fresh dill and sparkling wine in a honeydew melon).
There is a menu of tasty snacks too that’s been overseen by Brad Warner (the chef who oversees the kitchen at Shay & Ivy downstairs). Expect fancy dishes to pair with your fancy cocktails like a meat and cheese board, tuna tartare, and a mushroom and walnut pâté.
Snacks range from $14-$21.
In a Nutshell:
This a spot to come, sip and gaze. Bring your next date, your next business meeting or just anyone that likes a good cocktail or three.
