Quality Eats Nomad

OPENED661 DAYS AGO

Quality Eats has opened a third location in Nomad.

This follows the opening of their second location on the Upper East Side last year, and they’re serving both old-time favorites and exciting new menu items.

The Spot:

While the new location shows some changes, the restaurant’s design is similar to its previous locations, featuring the same industrial elements, and blue and pink accents.  The main space seats a nice round 100, with room for another 24 in the bar and lounge, and features abstract ingredients carved into the wood-panelled walls. It’s also decorated with character portraits by artist Simone Massoni.

The Food:

Quality Eats fans will recognize a few staples – grilled Nueske’s bacon with peanut butter and the patty melt club burger are still on the menu – but there are plenty more new items at this Nomad location. Highlights include the Veggie Double Club (two house veggie burger patties with American cheese), the Reuben for two with sproutkraut (the chef’s version of sauerkraut, made with Brussels sprouts), and Matcha Green Tea Pudding for dessert (coconut almond sponge cake with pink Kit Kats).

The Drinks:

The cocktails here are just as creative as the food. Quality Eats serves a glass of whiskey with housemade cotton candy, pours Mai Tai in a LEGO mug and tops classic hot buttered rum with a rubber ducky-shaped spiced butter. If the cocktail craziness isn’t your thing, there’s also a selection of wines.

The Damage:

Steaks vary between $19 and $31.

In a Nutshell:

Quality Eats contrasts the traditional expensive steakhouses, with executive chef Craig Koketsu using affordable and lesser-known cuts of beef, such as Bavette, Long Bone Short Rib Steak, and Top Blade-Flatiron. Given the popularity of the previous locations of Quality Eats, this third location of the steakhouse staple is likely to be another success. It’s only a matter of time before those cocktails and pink Kit Kats are all over Instagram.
