Pho Bar

OPENED137 DAYS AGO

Vietnamese destination Pho Bar arrives in Chinatown.

It’s the second outpost of Pho Bar, which – as you might have guessed – focuses on noodle soups, as well as a range of Vietnamese street food-inspired snacks.

Pho bar - noodle soup

The Spot:

After the success of the first location in Greenwich Village, chef and co-owner Mike Khuu is ready to bring his modern take on Vietnamese cuisine to Chinatown. While still honoring traditional techniques, Pho Bar offers many out-of-the-ordinary toppings, extra bold broths, and street food snacks served in style.

Pho Bar - lobster soup

The Food:

The star of the show is of course pho, slowly simmered and topped with everything from spicy short rib to lobster or even a combination of both (yes, surf and turf pho is a thing). There are some new additions to the Chinatown location too, including a luxurious 25-hour broth (named fittingly, the crazy rich broth) and a deconstructed pho pot that provides the perfect temperature. Round out your meal with Vietnamese spring rolls, a mix of veggies or sautéed chili shrimps, and you’ve got yourself a happy belly.

The Drinks:

Pho Bar in Chinatown features an Asian beer bar with a diverse mix of beers from across the continent, as well as Vietnamese iced coffees and herbal teas.

The Damage:

Noodle soups range from $10 to $25 (depending on your style of broth and toppings); sides are priced at around $8.

In a Nutshell:

The dreaded New York winter cold is officially here, so the expansion of Pho Bar with extra comforting broths couldn’t have come at a better time.
