Petite Boucherie

OPENED15 DAYS AGO

Petite Boucherie arrives in the West Village.

Petite Boucherie is the latest member of the Boucherie family – a French brasserie and steakhouse with locations in Gramercy Park and the West Village.

Petite Boucherie - dish

The Spot:

Located at the intersection of Christopher and Gay Streets, Petite Boucherie replaces Parisian café Dominique Bistro, but you won’t have to say goodbye to those fine French vibes. The corner restaurant still features a rustic décor, a menu with timeless bistro classics and pretty flowers to draw you in.

The Food:

If you’ve been to Boucherie before, you will notice the sister (or should we say, sœur) restaurant isn’t so different. Starters include steak tartare, foie gras and onion soup, while you’ll find more French staples under entrées. Think steak frites, a bistro burger with aged gruyere, and Provençale-style seared scallops (made with crushed tomatoes, roasted garlic and lemon). With only a few different egg dishes to choose from (think benedict, Norwegian or soft scrambled eggs), Petite Boucherie’s breakfast and brunch menu is decidedly simple, though you can’t go wrong with the classics.

The Drinks:

Petite Boucherie serves French wine and cocktails, including a refreshing Spritz with Lillet rosé and grapefruit.

The Damage:

Dishes vary between $14 and $35.

In a Nutshell:

While Boucherie’s other locations are hugely spacious and grand, Petite Boucherie lives up to its name and feels more like a cozy bistro – the kind of place you would find on the streets in Le Marais, and not in New York.
