Nonna Beppa

OPENED1005 DAYS AGO

Italian restaurant and market Nonna Beppa arrives in Soho.

After the success of his first US restaurant in Miami, Via Emilia 9, chef Giancarlo “Wendy” Cacciatori brings his Italian cooking skills to Hudson Square. Nonna Beppa focuses on cuisine from Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, where pasta and meat take center stage.

Nonna Beppa - tortellini

The Spot

Named after chef Wendy’s grandmother, Nonna Beppa is dedicated to serving the same traditional recipes as the family-owned restaurants in Persiceto, a small town north of Bologna. While New York might not be familiar with cuisine from the Emilia-Romagna region, the family’s restaurants have become pillars in the community of their hometown – Nonna Beppa in New York aims to follow suit. The space is industrial yet warm, fitted with a separate station where chefs lovingly make the pasta throughout the day.

The Food:

Nonna Beppa’s signature dish is tortellini, filled with a mix of prosciutto, mortadella, pork loin and aged parmigiano-reggiano, served in a light broth. Although the tortellini is an absolute must-order, the menu also includes other options such as tagliatelle with prosciutto, gnocchi in bolognese sauce, alongside charcuterie and cheeses.

The Drinks:

Drinks are traditional too, including a selection of Lambruscos (a red wine grape from Emilia Romagna), as well as Italian cocktails and beers.

Antipasti varies between $13 and $25; pastas cost around $19-$24.
