Kyma

OPENED199 DAYS AGO

Long Island’s Greek dining destination Kyma arrives in Manhattan – now open in the Flatiron District.

Following the success of the original outpost in Roselyn, owner Reno Christou brings Kyma to the city with a similar aesthetic and menu.

Kyma - interior of the main dining room

The Spot:

Aiming to transport you straight to a Greek island, the two-story restaurant boasts an all-white interior complete with alcoves and booths – perfectly lit to evoke a Santorini-style sunset. You’ll also find grand pillars throughout the space, alongside decade-old ceramics and pottery – all sourced from Athens’ markets and alleyways. The marble fish display, located in the main dining room, gives you a sneak peek into Kyma’s menu.

Kyma - Chips

The Food:

Helmed by chef Chris Christou, the menu features Greek specialties with a focus on seafood, including calamari stuffed with four Greek cheeses, lavraki (Mediterranean sea bass) and swordfish with tomato, onion and bell pepper. If you’ve ever been to Kyma in Long Island, you will recognize the restaurant’s signature dishes such as crispy slices of zucchini and eggplant (served with tatziki); zucchini keftedes (with sumac yogurt) and grilled lamb chops.

The Drinks:

To go with your traditional Greek fare, Kyma offers wines and signature cocktails with interesting ingredients such as mastic (a resin derived from trees of the Island of Chios) and Vysno glyko (sour cherries).

The Damage:

Small dishes vary between $12 and $24; entrées cost $32-38.

Kyma - bar

In a Nutshell:

While Kyma is hugely popular in Long Island, the restaurant sensibly brings its signature dishes alongside more elevated options to the city.
