Inday
The fast-casual eatery Inday opens another location in Midtown
After opening Inday Go Go inside the new Urbanspace food hall just one week ago, owner Basu Ratnam expands the fast casual eatery with his third location in Midtown East.
The Spot:
Making fast casual almost effortless, the new location introduces its modernized ordering system: upon entering, Inday’s staff are ready to take your order on iPads. Designed by Alexia Sheinman with Architecture Outfit, the minimalistic 22-seat space features reclaimed materials such as bamboo, dekton and teak wood.
The Food:
Using seasonal spices and herbs for Indian marinating methods, Inday serves seven protein-driven bowls such as seven-spice grilled chicken, braised lamb in Masala spices, and tamarind-glazed salmon. The menu offers several different options to go with your protein, including long grain basmati rice, cauliflower rice, ancient grains or a seasonal green mix, as well as rotating side dishes.
The Drinks:
Drinks are just as nutritious as the meals, featuring homemade mushroom bone broth, charcoal chai (masala chai, almond milk, activated charcoal, and dandelion root) and a new turmeric shot (almond milk, ginger, turmeric, chlorophyll, lemon, honey, and cardamom).
The Damage:
Inday’s signature bowls vary between $10 and $13 (without additional toppings), side dishes cost around $4 and drinks are $4-$6.
In a Nutshell:
With a menu that includes nothing but sustainably raised, antibiotic-free proteins and gluten-free dishes, Inday proves that fast casual can be healthy too. As the Indian eatery has opened two locations in just one week’s time, we’re pretty sure there’s more to come.
