Grünhaus

OPENED616 DAYS AGO

Grünhaus is a new beer hall, now open on the Lower East Side.

After successfully running Williamsburg’s beer hall Spritzenhaus for several years, the beer experts bring a new fresco watering hole to Manhattan.

The Spot:

Located in the former Spitzer’s Corner space, the beer hall features two spacious rooms with adjacent bars, communal tables and greenery all around, while floor to ceiling windows let in tons of natural light. On warmer days, the windows will open to transform the beer hall into an airy beer garden.

The Food:

The menu features nothing but comfort food, including house-made sausages on pretzel buns, Belgian fries and Sigmund’s pretzels. You can pick your sausage of choice (think bratwurst, chicken or even a vegetarian option) and add toppings such as sauerkraut, chorizo chili with cheese and jalapeno-jicama coleslaw. If you’ve taken your health-obsessed friend – not the best move – there’s also a black kale salad.

The Drinks:

The real reason you come to Grünhaus: for the beer, of course. The list is extensive, offering 30 rotating beers on tap, as well as bottles, cans and beer-based cocktails. If you’ve taken someone who doesn’t like beer – you’re officially the worst friend – there’s also a small selection of wines.

The Damage:

Sausages cost around $11, while beers vary between $7 and $12.

In a Nutshell:

With communal tables and an endless selection of drinks, Grünhaus is ideal for large groups and pretty much anyone that loves beer.
