Good Stock

OPENED1070 DAYS AGO

We’ve got something for all you January dieters out there looking to warm up this cold January and it’s a new soup spot in the West Village called Good Stock. Located on Carmine Street, the new spot first started out at Smorgasburg in 2014 before gaining popularity and finally opening its first permanent spot at Urbanspace Vanderbilt.

While other soup-like restaurants have opened in Manhattan recently, including Brodo Broth Shop, the new opening of Good Stock will be sure to give us a little more variety in terms of its offering.

Owned by Ben LeBlanc, a native of Louisiana, Good Stock makes their awesome soups in a commissary in Long Island City, Queens before sending them to either their Urbanspace location or their twice-weekly pop-up on Mondays and Thursdays at West Elm Market in Dumbo.

Look out for some of their signature flavors like fried chicken and Andouille gumbo (yes, fried chicken), short rib chili and smashed sausage & black eyed pea. Other, more simple flavors like roasted tomato and carrot and ginger are also available. In addition to soups, there are always two salads from a rotating menu available every day.

The space is decorated with blue tiles throughout to match with their food hall stand and has space for customers to eat in with a take out option available too. If you’re on a post-holidays health kick but don’t get too excited about the idea of boring diets, then this spot is perfect for you. Come for winter-warming soups with unique and delicious flavors.
