Brooklyn Cider House

OPENED726 DAYS AGO
It’s here! New York City’s first ever cider, restaurant and bar in one has opened – Brooklyn Cider House. The new spot is inspired by cideries found in Spain’s Basque country and promises to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience. The aim is to deliver one of the U.S’s best interactive and communal dining and cider tasting experience right here in NYC. We’ve already got beer covered thanks to yet another opening of Randolph Beer in DUMBO but now, it’s time to get cider covered.
The Spot:
Situated at 1100 Flushing Avenue, the 12,000-square-foot former warehouse in Bushwick comes complete with a large bar area in the front as well as two cider rooms behind (so there’s plenty of opportunity to get your drink on). Brooklyn Cider House is both a bar/restaurant and place for hanging out. One of the cider rooms houses 80-year-old chestnut barrels from Asturias in Spain where the raw cider can be tasted. There are a further three dining rooms with long communal tables that remind you of something like a German beer hall. We think this will offer a great spot for groups looking for a spot to drink the night away.
The Food:
The food on offer is inspired by Basque cooking  and you’ll find dishes like chorizo braised in their own cider, dry-aged rib eye, bacalao and more. Guests can also opt to stay at the bar and indulge in the bar menu’s offer of Spanish-inspired snacks like jamon, marconas, olives, anchovies and cheese.
The Drinks:
Not only is there the Brooklyn Cider House‘s line of five ciders produced in upstate New York on offer but there’s also a range of New York state cider on offer and a variety of wines and spirits too. Look out for apple-focused spirits, as part of the cider theme, like Calvados, Pomal, Applejack and mulled cider. There’s also a gin and tonic program to highlight Spain’s love affair with the drink.
The Damage:
There are two menus available in the dining room – each composed of 5 communal courses; traditional for $37 (with meat and fish) and vegetarian menu for $32.
In A Nutshell:
Bring your next big group dinner or day out here and you’ll find yourself a cider-lover if you weren’t already.
