Boucherie Park Avenue South

Boucherie is opening a new location on Park Avenue South.

The first Boucherie opened in the West Village back in 2016, and now The Group – the team behind other European restaurants in New York such as Olio e Piú and Dominique Bistro – will continue to spread Parisian vibes in Gramercy Park.

The Spot:

While Boucherie on Park Avenue South isn’t as big as the location in the West Village, the 222-seat space has a similar Art Nouveau-style décor, featuring wooden tables, mosaic floors and large mirrors. It will also feature a charcuterie counter with imported meats, and during brunch and lunch hours, you will be able to order baguette sandwiches with charcuterie and cheeses to-go.

The Food:

The menu revolves around classic French dishes and bistro favorites, brought to you by Executive Chef Jerome Dihui. Highlights include the famous delicacy éscargot de Bourgogne, prepared with parsley, butter, lemon, garlic, and shallot, foie gras with onion compôte and red wine port sauce, and coq au vin with vegetables, mushrooms and lardons.

The Drinks:

The wine list balances both Old and New World wines, while bartender Anthony Bohlinger – formerly of Maison Première – has created cocktails with French and Martinique-based spirits. If you’re after something strong, there are absinthe-driven cocktails like The Franco-Mexican War, a mix of Bahnez Mezcal, Pernod, Suze, Lime and Aperol.

The Damage:

Small plates vary between $16–29, while main dishes cost around $35-54.

In a Nutshell:

It seems Boucherie has secretly been working on big things, given their recently launched cookbook Joie de Vivre and now a second location in Gramercy Park. As a classic never goes out of style, we’re pretty sure that steak-frites and crème brûlée will do just as well in their new home.
