7 Days of Bob’s Burgers at Chefs Club Counter

Chef Alvin Cailan of Eggslut is in residence at Soho’s Chefs Club Counter, and for the week before Christmas he’s bringing us all a present: 7 Days of Bob’s Burgers.

That’s right – this week-long pop-up is seven whole days of burgers inspired by the cult comedy show, with a different burger every day and all the proceeds going to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The Spot:

Chefs Club Counter is a pop-up restaurant in Soho which hosts chefs-in-residence – Alvin is proving to be a strong contender. It’s a ‘fast-casual’ concept, and the space on Spring Street was designed by architect Fernando Santangelo. It’s a light, airy space, with big windows looking out onto Spring Street and Lafayette and an interior designed around curved, geometric arches.

The Food:

Each day will have a different featured burger (displayed on a familiar Burger of the Day chalkboard), and the line-up is as follows:

Monday 18/12: Baby You Can Chive My Car Burger, with a beef patty, sour cream & mustard spread, chives and fried pickles;

Tuesday 19/12: Don’t You Four Cheddar ‘Bout Me Burger, with a beef patty, four different cheddars, lettuce, bacon and onions;

Wednesday 20/12: Foot Feta-ish Burger/Never Been Feta, with a beef patty, feta, arugula, mayo and mustard;

Thursday 21/12: Dark Side of the Shroom Burger, with a beef patty, shiitake mushroom, pineapple and teriyaki sauce;

Friday 22/12: Hit Me With Your Best Shallot Burger, with a beef patty, caramelized shallots, chèvre spread and arugula;

Saturday 23/12: We’re Here, We’re Gruyère, Get Used to it Burger, with a beef patty, sweet pickles, gruyère, caramelized onions and a bun dipped in jus;

Sunday 24/12: Bet It All On Black Garlic Burger, with a beef patty, mozzarella, spinach and black garlic spread.

Alongside the themed menu, Alvin is serving a more general burger menu, with sides, salads and breakfast items.

The Drinks:

It’s mainly about the food here, but you’ll find wine, beer, and a selection of Alvin’s juices (detox, for after the wine and/or beer), as well as hot drinks for their morning brunch vibe.

The Damage:

The themed burgers are $20, for which you also get a Bob’s Burgers keychain, a sticker, and (of course) fries. Remember, all proceeds go to the Los Angeles Fire Department to help them combat the wildfires in the area, so it’s all going to a good cause, too.

In a Nutshell:

We love pop-ups, we love burgers and we love Bob’s Burgers, so this looks like a great combination to us. Alvin Caillan has already impressed with Eggslut and his residency so far at Chefs Club Counter – we predict that this fun and delicious take on a limited edition menu is going to be very popular.
