The Beekman Hotel

OPENED1201 DAYS AGO

Originally scheduled to open in October 2015, the much anticipated opening of The Beekman Hotel has finally arrived. Located in Lower Manhattan, at 5 Beekman St, the hotel is housed within a historic red-brick building dating back to 1882 and is the result of a $360 million project to restore the building and turn int into a luxury hotel.

Operated by Thompson Hotels, The Beekman Hotel has 287 guest rooms as well as two meeting rooms for up to 135 and 125 attendees respectively. But, probably the most notable highlight of the hotel is it’s soaring nine-story atrium set within the center of the hotel and is topped with a pyramid skylight. The space, which carries a serious touch of old school New York, also boasts two restaurants; Augustine, run by restaurateur, Keith McNally and Fowler and Wells, run by celebrity chef, Tom Colicchio.

Augustine is a Brasserie-style restaurant that is set to open in the fall and will be open from breakfast through dinner, catering equally to a mid-morning coffee as well as a social dinner setting. The menu will include a combination of lighter dishes as well as French classics, with a special rotisserie and grill section of meats, fish and poultry. Keith McNally has run a variety of successful restaurants including Café Luxembourg, Balthazar, Pastis, Schiller’s, Minetta Tavern, and Cherche Midi, as well as Balthazar in London to name a few. Tom Colicchio’s Fowler and Wells is currently open and includes a menu of New York classics with Italian ingredients and French techniques. In addition to a having a signature restaurant, Tom Colicchio’s Crafted Hospitality is the hotel’s exclusive food and beverage partner, providing in-room dining and catering.

The Beekman Hotel’s guest rooms – which feature high ceilings, bespoke and vintage furniture, aged oak floors, craft cocktail tables, and marble baths with rain showers – start at $499 per night.
