Fowler & Wells has just opened at the Beekman hotel, one of the most anticipated new restaurants in Lower Manhattan.

One of the year’s most anticipated fall restaurant openings has launched at the Beekman, a new hotel and residence in an 1883 landmark building located in lower Manhattan.

Fowler & Wells is brought to us by renowned chef Tom Colicchio and the Crafted Hospitality team. This will be Colicchio’s first Manhattan restaurant in six years. The menu at Fowler & Wells focuses on classic New York dishes prepared with a modern touch.

The 88-seat restaurant is designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and emulates a New York downtown aesthetic merging luxury and industrial aesthetics. The space also features multicolored stained glass windows and a bold antique statement mirror.

The name Fowler & Wells pays homage to the original tenants of The Beekman back in 1840: Fowler & Wells Phrenological Cabinet. Colicchio and executive chef Bryan Hunt integrate seasonal flavors and classic cooking techniques to create a menu that reflects the influence of New York’s original fine dining restaurants and of the restaurant’s location inside a 19th century landmark building.

On the menu, you’ll find contemporary farm-to-table dishes such as Chicory Salad with Bosc and Bartlett pears, candied walnuts and Roquefort, Diver Scallops with leeks and black truffle and Rabbit Schnitzle with Sicilian pistachios.

Pastry chef Abby Swain has also created classic desserts such as Apple Tarte Tatin. Colicchio and the Crafted Hospitality team also offer guests distinct, customizable menus through their private dining program at the Beekman.

Next to Fowler & Wells, there is also the Bar Room, a 76-seat hotel bar located in the stunning Victorian atrium. The cocktail list offers hand-crafted variations of classic cocktails from mixologist Christopher James. Fowler & Wells is open daily for dinner.
