Atoboy

OPENED1513 DAYS AGO

Husband-and-wife duo chef Junghyun and Ellia Park are behind a new Korean small plates tasting menu concept in NoMad – Atoboy. The restaurant is focused on ‘Banchan’ which are also known as side plates and a fundamental part of any Korean cuisine. The husband and wife team are turning Banchan into a tasting menu of sorts and offers diners a choice of three items, each chosen from one section of the menu for a fixed price.

The menu at Atoboy rotates frequently with seasonality and availability and is also affordable at $36. Diners are given the option to choose from three dishes from the menu which moves from light options down to heavier ones plus rice. Vegetables like tender asparagus stems in a creamy sauce start off the first section before leading into options including the Pork Jowl (with barley and ssamjang and romaine), Chicken with spicy peanut butter and garlic or Shrimp with pork and salsa verde. A la carte side dishes like rice—one white, one fortified with baby corn and corn nibbles can be added to compliment the dishes along with items like kimchi, seasoned boiled egg and other veggies too.

Beer, wine and soju are the main offerings at Atoboy, as well as some special soju cocktails like the Hwayo Ginger Rosso (with ginger syrup, grapefruit and premium soju) and the Hwayo Tonic (with pear sangria, rosemary and white wine) as well as a couple of non-alcoholic drinks too, including an Iced Corn Silk Tea. Located on East.28th Street, the space features modern wood-topped tables and exposed stone walls.
